Record your screen, window or browser tab with optional mic audio
What is the Screen Recorder?
The screen recorder works like this: it captures your entire screen, a single window or one browser tab using the browser’s own getDisplayMedia engine, optionally mixing your microphone over the captured audio, and saves the result as a WebM video without any upload. Everything happens on your device - the input never leaves your tab unless the tool clearly states it performs a server-side lookup.
How to use the Screen Recorder
Tick the microphone option first if you want a voice-over, then press Start.
In the browser prompt choose Entire screen, a Window, or a Chrome Tab - tab capture also grabs the tab’s audio.
Record: pause/resume any time, stop with the button or the browser’s own Stop sharing bar.
Preview the result, then Download to save it as a .webm file.
Features
Screen, window or tab capture - tab audio included, system audio available where the OS allows
Optional microphone mixing on top of the captured audio, with graceful fallback if mic permission is denied
Pause and resume mid-recording - paused time is not written to the file
No watermark, no time limit, no account - the file is written straight to your disk
Common mistakes to avoid
Recording the wrong surface in a hurry - the prompt’s choice is what gets captured; tab capture is usually cleanest for demos
Expecting MP4 output - browsers record WebM (VP9/Opus); every modern player and editor opens it, and converters are built into this site’s video tools
Recording confidential windows by accident - everything visible in the chosen surface, including notifications, ends up in the video
Ignoring the browser bar - it stays visible to you (never in the video) so you always know you are still recording

Best used for

Creating walkthrough videos with voice-over commentary
Capturing video calls or streams you are authorised to record
Recording presentations straight from a browser tab with its audio
Privacy
Nothing is uploaded. Capture happens through your browser’s own permission system and the video is saved locally. Only record screens you have the right to record.
Frequently asked questions
Where do my recordings go?
Directly to your downloads folder via your browser. The video is held only in memory and a temporary local blob - no server ever receives any part of it.
Why can’t I record on my phone?
Mobile browsers deliberately do not expose screen capture to web pages for security. Use a computer with Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari; on phones use the built-in OS screen recorder instead.
Can it record me talking over the screen?
Yes - enable the microphone option and both your voice and the tab/system audio are mixed into one track. If you deny mic permission, recording continues with screen audio only.
How long can I record?
As long as your device’s memory allows. Recording writes continuously, so there is no artificial limit - a 30-minute tab capture is typically well under a gigabyte at browser default quality.
