Format and beautify XML code with indentation
The xml formatter works like this: it validates and pretty-prints XML with configurable indentation, preserving namespaces, CDATA and comments. Everything happens on your device - the input never leaves your tab unless the tool clearly states it performs a server-side lookup.
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| <root>
1
</root> | <root>
1
</root> |
All parsing and transformation happens locally in this tab - your code and data are not sent anywhere.
It validates well-formedness (matching tags, legal entities). XSD/DTA schema validation needs external tooling.
Yes - re-indentation is purely whitespace-based, so xmlns attributes, CDATA sections and comments pass through byte-for-byte apart from the layout.
The parser could not build a well-formed document - mismatched tags or stray characters - and the position is reported so the source can be fixed before formatting.
