Convert Unix timestamp to date and time online
The unix timestamp works like this: it converts between Unix timestamps (seconds or milliseconds since 1 Jan 1970 UTC) and human-readable dates in your local timezone. Everything happens on your device - the input never leaves your tab unless the tool clearly states it performs a server-side lookup.
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| 1789857600 | 28 Sep 2026 00:00:00 UTC (adjusts to your timezone) |
Conversion runs locally in your browser tab.
Unix time is seconds; JavaScript and Java use milliseconds. A 13-digit number is ms, 10 digits is seconds - the tool auto-detects.
32-bit signed seconds overflow on 19 Jan 2038; modern 64-bit systems are unaffected.
Both are accepted and auto-detected by length: 10 digits is seconds, 13 is milliseconds. The tool labels which it read so a JavaScript Date.now() value never gets misread as seconds.
Yes - Unix timestamps are stored in UTC but rendered here in your device's local timezone, with the UTC equivalent displayed alongside for server-side work.
