Strip EXIF, GPS and IPTC metadata from photos before sharing
The image metadata remover works like this: it strips EXIF, GPS, IPTC and XMP metadata by re-drawing your photo's pixels onto a canvas and exporting a brand-new image file that contains nothing but the picture. Everything happens on your device - the input never leaves your tab unless the tool clearly states it performs a server-side lookup.
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| A 4 MB JPG with GPS + camera data | Same pixels, zero metadata, often smaller file |
Images are processed on your device; nothing is uploaded unless a tool explicitly says a server lookup is involved.
No - the pixels are copied exactly. JPEG re-encoding is the one nuance: choose PNG if you need a bit-perfect copy.
PNG is lossless and inefficient for photos - pick JPEG for photos, PNG only for screenshots and graphics.
By re-drawing the photo's pixels onto a fresh canvas and exporting a brand-new image - the new file contains nothing but the visible picture, so EXIF, GPS, IPTC and XMP are all gone.
Only the one re-encode - at high quality the visual difference is imperceptible while every trace of origin disappears.
