Check password strength and security score
The password strength works like this: it scores password strength on length, character variety and pattern rules, and checks whether the exact password appears in public breach corpora (Pwned Passwords k-anonymity API). Everything happens on your device - the input never leaves your tab unless the tool clearly states it performs a server-side lookup.
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| "Summer2024!" | Pattern rules: looks like season+year+symbol - flagged weak despite variety |
Only the identifier you explicitly enter is sent for public-database lookup. Browser-side checks never transmit anything.
It sends only the first five characters of the password's SHA-1 hash and matches the suffix locally - the full password never leaves the tab.
Length dominates: a 20-letter lowercase phrase has more entropy than an 8-character symbol soup.
Length first, then character variety and pattern rules (repeats, sequences, common words) - the three properties that make guessing harder, weighted the way real cracking software weighs them.
Only whether the exact password you typed has appeared in a public data breach - the checking technique never sends the password itself, only a short partial hash that cannot be reversed.
