Create professional invoices with tax and discounts, download as PDF
What is the Invoice Generator?
The invoice generator works like this: it builds a clean single or multi-page invoice PDF in the browser: sender and client blocks, numbered line items with quantity and rate, percentage-based tax/VAT, a flat discount, notes and payment instructions, in nine currencies with the US dollar as the default. Everything happens on your device - the input never leaves your tab unless the tool clearly states it performs a server-side lookup.
How to use the Invoice Generator
Fill the From and Bill To blocks - name, address and contact lines. Line breaks are kept in the PDF.
Add line items with description, quantity and unit rate; the subtotal, tax and total update live as you type.
Set your tax/VAT percentage (0 if none) and optional discount, then write payment instructions in Notes.
Press Download - the PDF is generated locally and saved to your downloads folder with the invoice number as the filename.
Features
Nine currencies including USD (default), NGN, EUR, GBP, KES, GHS, ZAR, CAD and INR
Automatic pagination - long item lists flow onto extra pages instead of being cut off
Live totals panel so you see the final number before generating the PDF
Tax starts at 0 by default - enter your local VAT or sales-tax rate only when it applies
Common mistakes to avoid
Leaving the invoice number blank - sequential numbers are what make invoices legally traceable
Putting bank details only in an email - the PDF should carry complete payment instructions itself
Mixing currencies on one invoice - tax authorities expect a single currency per document; convert first if needed
Forgetting the due date - without it, payment terms are unenforceable in many jurisdictions
Freelancers billing clients without accounting software
Small businesses issuing tax-compliant invoices in USD or any major currency
One-off service invoices where a full invoicing app is overkill
Drafting a clean invoice template before entering it in accounting
Privacy
All invoice data is processed in your browser only. Nothing is uploaded, stored or logged - closing the tab erases the draft.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a legal invoice?
It produces a professionally formatted document with every standard field (parties, invoice number, dates, itemised charges, tax, total). Whether it satisfies your local tax authority depends on additional rules some countries add - e.g. Brazil and Italy require government-issued invoice numbers. For typical freelancer and small-business use in Nigeria, the US, UK and EU it is complete.
Does it store my client data?
No. Everything you type stays in the page. The PDF is assembled in your browser with the jsPDF library and saved straight to your device - no server ever sees your or your client’s details.
How do I number invoices?
Pick a scheme and never reuse a number, e.g. INV-2026-041. Sequential numbering is what auditors and tax offices check; gaps are tolerated, duplicates are not.
Can I add my logo?
Not yet in this version - it keeps the tool fully offline and instantly fast. A print-ready text invoice is accepted everywhere; if you need branded documents, generate here and add the logo in any PDF editor.
