Calculate GPA, cumulative grade point average for college
The gpa works like this: it converts letter or percentage grades into grade points using a 4.0 scale and weights them by credit hours to produce a semester or cumulative GPA. Everything happens on your device - the input never leaves your tab unless the tool clearly states it performs a server-side lookup.
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| A(4.0, 3 credits), B+(3.3, 4 credits), A-(3.7, 3 credits) | GPA = (12 + 13.2 + 11.1) / 10 = 3.63 |

A 4-credit course counts twice as much as a 2-credit one - that is why one bad grade in a heavy course hurts more.
It uses the common US 4.0 scale. Some schools cap A+ at 4.0, others at 4.3 - adjust expectations accordingly.
Each grade point is weighted by its course's credits, so an A in a 4-credit course counts twice as much as an A in a 2-credit course - one weak heavy course drags the GPA more than a light one.
The default mapping caps A+ at 4.0 on the common US scale; if your school caps at 4.3, read the result as slightly conservative and adjust the exceptional rows.
