Compare two texts and find differences online
The text diff works like this: it compares two texts line by line using the LCS diff algorithm and highlights added, removed and changed lines side by side. Everything happens on your device - the input never leaves your tab unless the tool clearly states it performs a server-side lookup.
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| "color: red" → "color: blue" | One changed line: color: red removed, color: blue added |
Text processing happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
It highlights at line level with inline word marking inside changed lines, matching how code review tools behave.
Green marks lines present only in the second text (added), red marks lines only in the first (removed), and a changed block is shown as its removal plus its addition - the LCS algorithm guarantees the smallest such edit set.
By default lines match exactly, including indentation - a space-only change shows as a real difference, which is often exactly the bug you are hunting.
